Nigerian Man Attempts Suicide After Being Sentenced To Death

There was mild drama yesterday at the High Court, Sapele Road, Benin City after a suspect sentenced to death for armed robbery tried to take his own life.

According to Jefferson Uwoghiren, a lawyer who witnessed the incident, the man was promptly stopped by court officials before it was too late.

The convicted suspect was filmed crying and lamenting as he laid on the ground before being taken to prison along with another suspect.
