It's official, the 2018 Osun State governorship election has been declared inconclusive by INEC. The reason is because the difference between the two leading candidates - Ademola Adeleke (PDP) and Isiaka Gboyega (APC) - is less than the number of votes in the areas were voting was cancelled due to irregularities.
Consequently, even though Senator Adeleke has the lead,
a winner could not be declared in the First Ballot. The two candidates will have to go for a re-run, while holding on to their current votes.
At this stage, anything can happen. It is the candidate who can lobby Mr. Oyiola Omisore of the SDP and others that will be the next Governor.
