Suspected ritualists have kidnapped a 13-day-old baby at Uro Quarters in Akoko Northwest Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night when two masked men entered a house and abducted the baby, while the baby's mother was deeply asleep.
It was gathered that an elderly woman, who attempted to rescue the baby, was attacked with a machete by the hoodlums.
Residents have combed the bush in a bid to rescue the baby.
The monarch of Uro-Ajowa, Oba Ade Ipinmoroti, was not around, but the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Okeagbe, Adetaranmi Ibitayo, a Superintendent of Police (SP), confirmed the incident.
He said the police have begun investigation to rescue the baby.
